Welcome to my Blog. I will be posting pictures of things that interest me, Photos (Light), Men's Clothing, and tailoring (Cloth) and Motorcycles (Internal Combustion), as well as anything else that strikes my fancy. I am currently working on a winter coat project, and will post picture of my progress. I saw this coat on the Denham's site, after visiting their store in Amsterdam. It was in their 2010 collection, but was a limited run and is no longer available. Have made myself some clothing in the past, I thought to myself, I can make that! Well we will see. It is made from re-purposed military surplus, ponchos for the outer, wool blankets for the insulation, and Japanese selvage denim for the lining. I needed a pattern to work from, as I am not talented enough to draft my own, YET! So I found a book of Men's coat patterns from Japan by Ryuichiro Shimzaki. I used one of the patterns to sew up a muslin coat to work on the fitting. I'll post pictures ...
Front of coat almost done. I just placed the buttons on here for the picture. Need to topstitch the front, and then i can put the body together. Sweet!
